The black rectangular electronic device "PrePass" affixed to the windshield allows state DOT Weigh Stations to identity the truck in which it is mounted. Weigh-in-motion road scales and off-road weigh scales update the PrePass device, which allows the truck to bypass the next weigh station in that state.
